Eng.) - Asian Institute of Technology, 1982 aA study has been carried out to design and implement a Cross-Compiler, which can convert a subset of the PL/I programming language into the machine instructions of a 6802 microprocessor. The Cross-Compiler has been implemented with the PL/I programming 1a ngua.ge and tested on an IBM 3031 computer. The compilation process has been divided into two parts: conversion of the PL/I subset language into a general assembly code, commonly used in many microprocessors; and the conversion of this assembly code into the specific machine instructions of a 6802 microprocessor. The main procedure of the compilation has been performed by using the approach called RECURSIVE DESCENT PARSING. 0aMicrocomputers0 aKanchit Malaivongs, eChairperson1 aRadok, Rainer, eExamination Committee1 aMalik, Ghulam M., eExamination Committee2 aCaptain Motor Inc., eScholarship Donor2 aAsian Institute of Technology.tSpecial studies project report ;vno.
