Consulting services in investment used to develop very fast in Vietnam since 1987, when the Law on Foreign Investment was issued to facilitate the economic renovation policy. In recent years, due to a big fall in foreign investment, companies operating in this field, especially local companies have been facing the survival test as they are losing key customers. The Consulting and Research Company for Technology Transfer and Investment (CONCETTI) is a typical case. The Company used to be very successful in the period between 1988 and 1997. However, its smooth operation has been damaged by the loss of its target market. The Company has been left with little alternatives, but to change its strategy radically. This study aims at formulating strategies for the Company to cope with changes in the environment. In doing so, it begins with analyses of external and internal environment to identify opportunities, threats, strengths and weaknesses of the Company (SWOT analysis). On the basis of SWOT analysis, a new strategy and an implementation plan are formulated to help the Company overcome the current difficulties and further develop for survival in the long te1m.
