Local plywood sheets were used to construct the timber folded plate models. Nailed joints were used to join the adjoining plates along the common edges. Experimental results show that there is some slippage between adjacent plates along the common joint. A general method of analysis which is called the slippage method is proposed for the analytical solution of those folded plate roofs considering slippage at the joints. The behavior of the folded plate models was studied and the experimental results compared with those of the suggested method of analysis. The experimental strains were close to the strains obtained from slippage method than those obtained from Simpson's method and their directions were confirmed. The portion of the roofs designed as a cantilever did not produce satisfactory results or demonstrate the expected behavior. The experimental vertical displacements did not agree with the analytical values UR - http://203.159.5.9/ait-thesis/detail.php?q=B23163 ER -
