  <abstract>A Part of house construction is the roof support which are trusses. As the material for this construction could use timber or steel. In Indonesia, timber is plentiful and easy to find. Therefore in this research we prepare a manual to work with light wood roof trusses in Indonesia for low cost housing. This manual shows which type of trusses are better for low cost housing and what fastening should be used for cheaper construction, and also which wood species is to be used. The aim of this research is to make available to unskilled or semi-skilled labourers assistance in selecting the appropriate sizes of trusses for low cost housing in Indonesia.</abstract>
