N2  - This study has been carried out to design a plan for establishing an EDP centre in an electronic company. It includes the study of the existing system plan for development of a MIS, general design of the first phase of the plan, determination of hardware and software needs and implementation plan and project evaluation. In the existing system study, an information flow diagram for the whole factory has been developed to look at the manufacturing information requirements as a series of interlocking subsystems and to identify its current serious problems. In the plan of development of the MIS, user requirements and applications priority have been taken into consideration. In a general design of the first phase of this plan, a conceptual structure has been specified giving volume and frequency of each job load which have been used in determining hardware and software needs of the new computer-based system. Lastly, a framework of the implementation plan has been given and a project evaluation has been carried out to show the economic viability of the proposed system
