This study, in continuation of Gupta's studies (1978), reports on the results of two soils tested by means of a model for determining the design parameters of mole drains under simulated conditions. Previously developed functional relationships for pull determination and spacing of a mole drain were analyzed. Dimensionless equations were developed for estimating pull magnitude and spacing of a drain in tested soils. Results of moisture contents on the form of mole drains showed that the moisture content should be higher than that of the lower plastic limit of soils. This confirmed Gupta results. The effect of the physical properties of soils like texture, bulk density, moisture contents and mole drain depths and-mole plow dimensions on the pull requirements were experimentally determined. Dimensionless equations were obtained for -determining the power unit required for the mole construction in tested soils. Pull magnitude for making moles varied with shear strength of soils and the mole plow dimensions. The experimental results were also reported on mole drain, flows at different depths and spacings under different water application rates. The evaluated results showed that a limited increased in mole depth created more fissures and cracks and thereby an increase in the basic infiltration rate was observed. By the least square method dimensionless equations were obtained to determine the mole spacing based upon the information's regarding rainfall intensity in the area to be drained, existing basic infiltration of the field and mole depth and diameter.
