  <abstract>Many  cities  are facing  many  water  security  issues  that are increasing  severely  along  with  the  pressure  on  the natural  water  resources . Therefore,  putting  the  concept  of  water  security   into   practice   should   be   given   more   attention   to   achieve   water   resources  managem ent.  This research endeavored to devel op the water security framework at city scale and apply  the framework for the Bangkok city . Water security definition of this study had combi ned  integrated  aspect  that  is:  e very  person  at  household  level  can  access  ea sy  piped  water  supply with sufficient quantity to meet basic needs and  be of  acceptable safe quality, Water  productivity  of  economic  activities  in  the  city  should  be  measured,  Water - bodies    in  the  city must not be effected from pollution and contamination  that are generated by the city,  Acceptable  level  of  water - related  disaster  to  people  in  the  city  that  consider  urban  flood  damage and rainfall variation and  Governance related to water should be more effective of  water use and capacity of management. The  water security framework has been developed  as a composite index, involving twelve indicators, ten variables and five dimensions. The  five  dimensions  of  this  framework  are  domestic,  economic,  environmental,  water - related  disaster  and  governance  and  managem ent.  For  developing  water  security  framework,  DPSIR  framework  and  SMART  criteria  were  used  for  identifying  and  selecting  the  composite  of  indicators. The  estimat ion  of the  overall  water  security  index  was  done  applying an   equal   weight   for   indicators,   varia bles   and   dimensions .  The  developed  fram e work was  applied  in the Bangkok  city.  Based  on the data  availability,  these  case  study  area  was  divided  into  two  spatial  (Eastern  and  Western).  Also,  this  study  selected  five districts (Sathon, Lat Phrao, Nong Chok,  Bangkok noi and Nong Kheam) in Bangkok  to  quantify  the  WSI  at  different  spatial  scales .  Temporal  scale  of  this  study  was  a  period  eight  years  between  2007 and  2014.  Finally,  the  result of  application  of  the  framework  shows the overall WSI  in Bangkok has  ac hieved moderate level over 8 years. For  district  scales, the overall WSI in selected districts has also achieved moderate level over  8 years  but a little higher than the overall WSI in Bangkok. </abstract>
