This project simulates the communication system in MATLAB program based on pulse position modulation (PPM) technique, and by using correlation technique for synchronization. This technique avoids the detection of bits by using a threshold value. Then, an optical wireless communication transmission system is developed using low-cost hardware based on the concept of software-defined radio/communication. The involved hardware includes a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) board, a digital-to-analog converter (DAC), and a light emitted diode (LED) light source.
