Simple regression using Ordinary Least Squares and Yule Walker Method of Estimation failed to the lagged relationship. Similarly, the transfer approach using the Box-Jenkins procedure showed no relationship. capture function dynamic A geometric lag scheme was introduced to identify the dynami c response of e l ectricity demand to changes in various determinants. The derived models obtained using this formulation were conceptually simple and economica l ly plausible. The study showed that there was a delayed adjustment of demand, notabl y to price, in all sectors as well as for the aggregate. The price effects were spread over a longer period in the industrial sector .
