The Internet and new technologies will change the traditional way of doing business in pulp and paper industry. Managers are wondering, how the e-commerce will change the way of doing business. This study is aiming to find the impacts how e-business affects pulp and paper industry. Sure it will provide remarkable benefits, such as lower costs, reduced inventory levels, shorter lead-times, and faster communication. It is also affecting the current strategies, thus companies have to continuously evaluate their strategies and structure in order to keep in pace this new, dynamic environment. It seems that the pulp and paper industry is very slow in adapting thee-business and this is mainly due to long history and traditions in the industry. Bute-business is here to stay - even in pulp and paper industry, and the industry has to get ready for it soon. There are many possibilities in the markets to start e-business. E-business offers a wide range of benefits for its participants. This needs cooperation, collaboration and support from the whole pulp and paper industry.
