Thus co nstruction of digesters ha s to be justified economical l y on the consumption of gas and slurry alone. In the case of relatively small Thai pig farms, the energy usage in the farm household and piggery is sufficient to make small digesters economically viable . However these are not adequate to treat all the manure of the farm. Consideration should be given to other agricultural needs for energy not related to pig rearing and household sector.
