The experiment was carried out in Yogyakarta, Indonesia during the rainy season of 1980-81. The experimental design was a randomized complete block design with three replicates. A regression analysis and analysis of variance were employed to compare the difference between the treatments. Intercropping of rice & peanut and intercropping of rice & soybean were effective in reducing erosion and run-off, The intercropping of rice & maize was the only one which showed higher erosion and run-off than the monoculture of rice. The highest erosion and run-off was found in the bare soil. Within the intercropping systems, the intercropping of rice & peanut showed the lowest and the intercropping of rice & maize showed the highest erosion and run-off. The erosion and run-off in the intercropping of rice & peanut were 8. 4 ton ha-1 (O. 6 mm of soil). and 97 mm, respectively. The monoculture of rice produced 13. 0 ton ha-1 of erosion ·.and 169 mm of run-off, The erosion and run-off from the bare soil were 29.8 ton ha-1 (2.3 mm of soil) and 241 mm, respectively UR - http://203.159.5.9/ait-thesis/detail.php?q=B21506 ER -
