Characteristics of the base flow of a reservoir and the fluctuation of a water table subjected to the fluctuation of water in the reservoir were investigated. The theoretical solutions were obtained in term of infinite series of the error function, using the Fourier Series and the Laplace Transform. The analytical solutions were verified by using the experimental results. The equipment makes use of the Hele-Shaw model, which composed of two 6 ft. by 4 ft. by % in. Plexi-glass plates placed vertically with a spacing of 1/16 in. The fluid used in the model was a lubricating oil having the kinematic of 3.64 x 10"3ft2/sec at 70°F.
