The energy management and conservation in paper mill in this consists of (i) feasibility study of using heat pump, (ii) analysis of cogeneration system and (iii) economic thickness of thermal of insulation. The purpose of using heat pump is to make hot water which required in processes. The study showed that heat pump is not economic when compared with the exist hot water making process by steam heating process . The analysis of cogeneration system was evaluated and compared with the noncogeneration system, the re sults showed that the operating with cogeneration can save 15.5 x 106 B/yr and 13.25 x 106 B/yr when operating with boiler No. 1 and No. 2 respectively. The economic thickness of thermal insulation minimised total cost which comprises of incremental insulation related cost plus heat loss related costs subtract tax saving. It can save 3.257 x 106 B/yr for the main steam pipe lines.
