The brake thermal efficiency of a Diesel engine running on diesel and a gaseous fuel. depends mainly on the properties of the fuel gas. A charcoal chart was developed from a theoretical gasification of charcoal a nd this was used in the e valuation of the constant speed load characteristics of a 25-k. W Diesel engine dual fueled with charcoal gas. curves f or engine operation on pure diesel were plotted from test results and were used as the basis for comparing the performance with dual fuel. The brake thermal efficiency was found to be lower and declined with increasing heat input from producer gas.
