N2  - This study evaluates the Housing Development Dissemination Programme  of the Government of Indonesia.  The unawareness of the housing conditions, a healthy environment and  benefits, the lack of a clear-cut policy and the limited understanding  of the community are some of the existing problems . Furthermore, lack  of effective people 's participation in project implementation and limited  funding have led to the poor performance of the programme.  While the programme should be continued, it is recomended to imple ment a more specific approach towards dissemination based on the different  regions and ethnic groups. Thus, more adopted solutions, based on in-depth  research, would perhaps generate more people's participation and housing  improvements
