OTM-15-05 aA thesis submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Engineering inOffshore Technology and Management, School of Engineering and Technology aThesis (M.Eng.) - Asian Institute of Technology, 2015 aThe objective of this study is to propose a systematic approach about analyzing and evaluation of delay on offshore installation of Jacket. This study incorporates with statistics of past projects data and viewing the report documents into identifying the causes of delay of installation of jacket to predict the probability of delay and delay hours. Once causes of delay are identified, data collection would be the first step to be done to decide the best fitted continuous distribution based on how much data available which will be used as input variables in probabilistic-based model. Then, the Monte Carlo simulation would be used to predict theprobability of output, in other words, to predict the probability of occurring delay and delay hours in installation of jacket. After that, the practical response plan regarding delay would be decided in term of different options. Finally, this study would end up with the comparison of money loss caused by delay and implementation cost to prepare according response plan. The proposed systematical procedure above was applied to installation of 4-legs jacket installation as a case study of this paper. The result of this study can be applied for both in project planning and strategic decision making to prevent the liquidate damage or penalty in bidding stage. Finally, the case study shows that the proposed procedure could be used as a powerful tool to reduce or deal with delay and it could be a very helpful information for decision maker. 0aOffshore structuresxDesign and constructionxDecision making1 aChiu, Gregory L.F.,eChairperson1 aBoswell, Laurence F.,eExamination committee 0 aSarunphong Articharte,eExamination committee2 aGreater Mekong Subregion (GMS),eScholarship donor2 aAsian Institute of Technology.tThesis ;vno.
