The notched vs. unnotched beam techniques was used to evaluate the J-integral and the critical crack opening displacement (COD ) approaches. To study c the influence of different parameters, notch depth, specimen size, and percentage of. reinforcement were varied. Double cantilever beam (DCB) specimens were also tested. The results were used to draw the R-curves showing the influence of different parameters. J-integral and crack opening displacement (COD) approaches were found to be independent of notch depths and specimen size. This result suggests that J-integral and COD are both promising fracture criteria. R-curves, however, appear to be influenced by notch depth and crackline thickness, and therefore seem not to be a valid fracture criterion UR - http://203.159.5.9/ait-thesis/detail.php?q=B19350 ER -
