Some GIS's are able to automatically convert from one format to the others while others can operate on only a specific data format. The scanline algorithm, double run-length encoding and thinning can be handle the GIS data conversion mechanisms to improve and preserve data contents. It also provide data quality and eliminate error due to repeated conversions. In the first experiment vector data is converted to raster data. Vector data are encoded in digital line graph (DLG) which consists of the topology records of node, line and area. The scanline algorithm is used next for raster coding. The second experiment raster data is converted to vector data.
