  <abstract>This thesis presents models for coordinating between production and distribution  systems for a company with various products from its multiple processing locations through its  multiple distribution centers to its customers over a multi-period horizon.  The models is used to solve an example based on an actual problem faced by Unilever Vietnam.  Two, monolithic and hierarchical, approaches are presented with models and solutions.  Advantage of hierarchical approach for production/distribution planning is justified.  A decision suppoli system, the core of which is a linear programming model, has been  developed to minimize the total cost of the production/distribution system of Unilever  Vietnam</abstract>
