This thesis concerns design and development of computer based Highway Management Information System (RWMIS) for highway system in Thailand. Broad steps of this study are study of existing system; study of information requirement; study of data requirement; development of data base for fulfilling required reports and report processing system; and, . recommendation for data base maintenance. The study of existing system step included the study of existing decision making process, existing reports, and determination of existing system problems, The study of information requirement and development of proposed reports is made from BCEOM working sheets; existing system reports and problems with existing system. The study of data requirement is the study of all detail data items which will be processed to be the required information, this step included the study of existing standard and codes; availability of data; and, additional data collection. The data base development step included data preparation for each data file and file creation.
