87 leaves : ill. NGOs in Thailand have undergone significant shifts in focus and roles in response to the dynamic economic, political, and social landscape. The sustenance of these organizations heavily relies on financial support from international and local donors, thereby impacting their goals and objectives. Despite grappling with funding constraints and escalating demand for assistance, NGOs have had to respond to the urgent needs of the most affected populations, even if such activities may not always align seamlessly with their long-term goals and plans. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought forth not only a public health crisis but also significant economic concerns. Even before the pandemic, Thailand's economy was experiencing annual contractions, and there are growing domestic and international concerns about an impending economic recession. Historical evidence of previous crises suggests that NGOs will undoubtedly bear the impact of the pandemic as well. This study aims to examine the implications of the pandemic on NGOs, encompassing both its effects during the crisis and its aftermath. Through a comprehensive evaluation of NGOs' initiatives to mitigate the COVID-19 impact in the Thai community and an analysis of their collaborative efforts during this challenging period, the study seeks to foster a deeper understanding of the overarching role played by NGOs in Thai society. Additionally, the study explores the relationships between NGOs, potentially paving the way for inter-NGO collaboration. Furthermore, the study aims to assess the key differentiators in the activities of NGOs and their related endeavors during the COVID-19 pandemic.
