All specimens were loaded to 40% of the ultimate tensile strength of the respective concrete, determined 28 days after casting. In Series I, tensile creep and swelling was measured up to 90 days at 95 ± 5% R. H and 72 ± 3°F. Series II specimens were kept in an air conditioned room at 78 ±5% R.H and 72 ±6°F for 42 days. Tensile specific creep (creep per p.s.i) was nearly the same in the case of Series I concretes irrespective of the type of aggregate used. However, in Series II, the specific creep was found to be highest for sandstone concrete and lowest for limestone concrete; concretes made with Andesite and Gravel having intermediate values.
