Eng.) - Asian Institute of Technology, 2000 N2 - Recycled newspaper is very important raw material for newsprint. Recycled paper to be selected and sent to mill for process requires storage. Storage has deleterious effect on the papermaking potential of fiber. So, storage time was selected to study for this project. Flotation deinking method was used to deink the old newspaper. Effect of aging on brightness, opacity, and dirt count was studied. Aging process was simulated at the laboratory scale. It was observed that strength and optical properties of newsprint were reduced by aging. The response of Thai and US old newspaper was different for aging. Thai newspaper gave higher brightness but lower cleanliness than US newspaper. Nevertheless, other properties of Thai newspaper were higher than US newspaper. Some ink substances could penetrate inside crossing-areas of Thai fiber. UR - http://203.159.5.9/ait-thesis/detail.php?q=B06587 ER -
