In this research, the performances in terms of signal to noise ratio (SNR) and bit error rate (BER) of a bipolar baseband DS/CDMA system is investigated. An analysis of the Optimum matched filter for bipolar baseband DS/CDMA applications is shown. The filter coefficients are found which maximize the output signal to noise ratio. A performance comparison of this filter with a conventional matched filter is demonstrated. The Gold codes and random binary sequences are used in this investigation. The performance investigation for CDMA techniques in an urban area Rayleigh fading radio channel is also presented. The simulation results demonstrated that the optimum matched filter receiver together with the forward error correction coding can achieve a very good system performance, in the mobile radio channels.
