  <abstract>Building Automation Systems are designed to integrate building systems, such as HV AC,  lighting, fire safety, and security access control. The integration of all of these systems can  reduce initial and ongoing costs, and simplify building operation. the energy consumption and  cost in large office buildings can be reduced by allowing the indoor environment to deviate  from the optimum comfort conditions to situations which are still acceptable by most  occupants.  This study investigates the potential of energy saving in HV AC system of an office building  when BAS is used. The potential of the power management from usage in term of reduction of  peak demand from cost saving is also evaluated, the financial viability of BAS installation  does. A study building is a sample of office building using BAS to control the operation  effectively in the building to reach the energy conservation goal.  To control the state of AJC operation, the BAS can provide a criterion to control the active  status as following details through the DDC unit. This two step control uses two-position  temperature value in the data comparison. For example, if the setpoint is 26 and a differential  is four, the measured temperature must rise above 28 degrees before the module controls an  HV AC unit on (space is too warm). The temperature must fall below 24 before the point  controls an HVAC unit off (space is too cool). This creates a control range of 24 to 28 degrees.  The temperature from the RI A is not exactly representative value of the working space that we  want to do a thermal comfort. For example, the RI A temperature that measured from inside the  area is set to be 23 ° C by BAS program but mechanical design from this building, the VA V  boxes can not work correctly there is some losses as ventilating. an average temperature from  each zone representing the thermal comfort of the PCUs are not satisfy the thermal comfort  according to ASHRAE Fundamental 1997 which states that the suitable comfort condition  should be 25. 5 ° C.</abstract>
