Newton-Raphson iteration technique with total Lagrangian approach is used to solve the equations which are obtained using the incremental form of the Reissner variational principle. Shear terms are neglected in the formulation. The fundamental unknowns consist of six internal forces and displacements which contribute seven degrees of freedom. The polynomial interpolation functions used in stress resultants are discontinuous while displacements are continuous at the inter element boundaries. Numerical examples are presented to show the validity of the solutions obtained by the mixed finite element method UR - http://203.159.5.9/ait-thesis/detail.php?q=B20981 ER -
