A gas separation plant was established in late 1984 to separate the natural gas into its methane, ethane, propane, LPG, and natural gasoline components. The potential demand and supply of natural gas in terms of these components is analyzed and the demand - supply situation identified. Possibilities of long- term demand management for natural gas, based on its derived components, are discussed. It was found that LPG extraction from natural gas should be encouraged to alleviate the cost of imported LPG. More utilization of gas derived methane stream as fuel is required by industry.
