The study presents the development of a system for data management, retrieval and statistical analysis of any survey data . First, a study of the survey data structure was carried out followed by a review of the existing packages for data management and statistical analysis. A Package for storage, retrieval, and analysis of data is then developed. In the developed system, two packages are modified and interfaced together. These are GRASP (Geological Retrieval and Synopsis Program) and SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science). An important part of the work was to provide the user a friendly interface . Attempt has been made to make the system easy and convenient to use, especially for the novice users . A user manual for the system has been produced . A set of survey data was analyzed using the developed package . The results obtained are included in the thesis.
