Despite the great importance of Thai tourism industry  in Thai  economy  since  it  accounts  for  millions of  job, there  is  no previous  study exploring the effect oftourism sector on economic expansion in Thai context and exist lack of information of this sector and also was one of the limitation which obtained in the field to request information to the competent authorities of the province of Khon Kaen becausethe  information  is  not  updated.  Moreoverthe  research  study  and  explorethe  relationship between  tourism  development  and  economic  growth  in  the  Northeastern  of  the  Region  of Thailand specifically in Khon Kaen Province which is the study area.The  researchers  argue  that  tourism  development  not  only  stimulates  the  growth  of  the industry, but also triggers overall economic growth. As a result, most developing countries use  promoting  the  tourism  industry  as  an  important  economic  development  strategy  to enhance   economic   growth.   Therefore,   there   are   some   previous   studies   focused   on examining the relationship between tourism development and economic growth in various countries.This study focuseson examining the potential of Tourismin Khon Kaen and the economic growth. The specific research is whether regime changes have broken down the stability of relationship between tourism development and real GDP in Khon Kaen.The major contribution of this research is its furthering of the understanding of the both the positive and  negative  impacts of tourism.
