Due to significant impact of construction industry on the economic well-being of a nation, the construction productivity improvement is extremely important. However, fundamental understanding and awareness of construction personnel toward productivity is an important step and prerequisite to improve it. This research mainly concerns with the assessment of construction personnel's productivity understanding and awareness toward productivity issues and their perceptions and practices toward major on-site factors adversely affecting construction productivity. The result shows that there is a need to improve their understanding and awareness toward productivity issues. Moreover, the most important factors identified by on-site managers are 'improper planning and scheduling', 'ineffective coordination', 'unskilled and inexperienced of labor', 'material unavailability', 'inadequate supervision'. The rank of importance identified by on-site managers is different from that of skilled labor. The practices of the factors are also needed to be improved. Therefore, management should take appropriate actions to improve them.
