For this country, however, it is an industry where technological capability remains to be developed and harnessed fully. Increasing the technological capability of the industry has been acknowledged as extremely important to be able to respond successfully to the challenges posed by technological changes in the industry and to take advantage of the possibilities opened by some of them. This research study proposes a framework for the assessment of the technological capability of the textile industry. The framework is designed to facilitate the identification of the strengths and weaknesses of the industry with respect to the best practice in the world. Specifically, the framework helps to identify the level and status of the important components of technology i.e. technoware, humanware, inforware and orgaware, with respect to each of the elements of technological capability. The disaggregated analysis points out where efforts for capability building can be concentrated on. It also entails a qualitative assessment of the support environment to the textile industry that affects the accumulation and development of technological capability UR - http://203.159.5.9/ait-thesis/detail.php?q=B16498 ER -
