| 520 | _aThe purpose of this research paper is to study different transfer mechanisms practiced by university research centres with various industry background and their mechanisms adopted to attract industry to involve in their technology transfer activities. With the rapid advancement of technology, the industry has difficulties coping with its pace. Therefore, the commercial firms seek outside help that would be willing and have ample resources to conduct the very first stages of technology development processes, to save time as well as money. That is where the university research centres come in. These organizations can exist in different forms; as separate entity from the university though their ownership belong to the university or directly under the management of the university. They develop the leading-edge or appropriate technology, transfer it to the industry through different ways and enjoy the financial benefits gained. With the strong commitment to technology transfer as their main objective, the three research centres and institutes from Singapore are studied. Their technology transfer modes are identified together with their methods of environment scanning and advertising. The relevant practices of these research centres are then recommended to Myanmar universities to adopt in order to improve the linkages between university and industry in Myanmar. | ||
