520 _aThis study was conducted to investigate the feasibility of using combined Sharon (Single reactor system for High Ammonium nitrogen Removal Over Nitrite) and Anammox(ANaerobic AMmonium OXidation) process for wastewater nitrogen removal. The main objective is to study the nitrogen removal at various operating parameter such as loading rate, oxygen feed ratio and HRT. The experiment used silicone hollow fiber membrane module for supply of oxygen gas because it has the biggest gas permeability besides its exellent heat-resisance, toughness, resilience and long-life. In the experiment, five-liter reactor and silicone hollow fiber membrane module were operated. Synthetic wastewater was fed continuously for 4-5 months with the variation of {u2022} Ammonium nitrogen concentration; 50mg/L, 60mg/L, 70 mg/L,80 mg/L and90 mg/L {u2022} Oxygen feed ratio, 1:14, 1:19, 1:9, 1:6, 1:11and1:3.8 {u2022} HRT, 1 day and 2 days The controlled parameters in this experiment were pH, alkalinity and dissolved oxygen concentration. pH and alkalinity were controlled by adding bicarbonate contents. Alkalinity concentration in this experiment depended on the concentration of ammonium nitrogen. Dissolved oxygen concentration could be controlled by oxygen flow rate that was pumped to the hollow fiber membrane module, wastewater circulation flow rate and oxygen feed ratio. Dissolved oxygen concentration was kept at 0.5-1.0 mg/L. It was found that at the optimum ammonium nitrogen loading rate is 60-70 mg/L·d and the oxygen feed ratio should be 1:11. The suitable HRT is 1 day. The maximun nitrogen removal is 63.85% because the nitrification process was occurred in silicone hollow fiber membrane module reator.
