| 520 | _aThere are many methods to help lift oil to the surface. For instance, gas lift method. This approach is widely used to gain more oil recovery than let the oil flow by itself. In this study, gas lift methods, both conventional gas lift and in-situ gas lift, are studied in the deep detail to determine an appropriate way to improve oil recovery. By simulation oil reservoirs in commingled production through using conventional gas lift as a base case and in-situ gas lift cases in several conditions. There are several conditions for in-situ gas lift cases because improvement of oil recovery by using in-situ gas lift method needs to find the suitable gas reservoir for good results of oil recovery. The parameters that effect amount of gas and gas flow rate need to be concerned such as permeability (k), perforation interval (hp), depth and thickness of gas reservoirs (h). The results from ECLIPSE simulation show that both conventional gas lift and in-situ gas lift can help improve oil recovery quite well. For the variable outcome (permeability, perforation interval, depth and thickness of gas reservoir), the factor that directly takes effect to amount of gas in gas reservoir is thickness and the other studied factors directly affect the gas flow rate. Although gas help lift up the oil, amount of gas and gas rate must not have or flow too high because the excess gas will flow very quicklyup to the surface. Hence, there is not enough time to allow gas blend with oil then oil cannot flow smoothness. By the way, the oil recovery factor comparisons of conventional gas lift case and in-situ gas lift cases demonstrate that the conventional gas lift can improve oil recovery factor better than in-situ gas lift cases. Nevertheless, the conventional gas lift case spends more cost than in-situ gas lift cases. In addition, some it-situ gas lift cases obtain oil recovery production closely the conventional gas lift. | ||
