520 _aThe present study has been conducted in order to study and develop the wind tunnel test methods (HFFB and HFPI techniques) on tall building models for the TU-AIT wind tunnel. Both techniques were carried out to compare in both wind-induced forces and responses. The experiments of both methods were performed on two tall buildings{u2019} models such as simple (standard CAARC building) and complex (Overseas Union Bank Centre building) shape model. In comparative procedure, the verification of the HFPI measurement is the first step by comparing with the HFFB result in both simple and complex shape models. Then, the verification of correction factors for HFFB was carried out. The correction factors have been proposed by Holmes (J.D.Holmes, 1987) to correct the linear mode shape limitation of HFFB technique. When the both methods can provide the appropriate results, the determination of wind-induced responses would be conducted. In determining the responses, the various effects can be investigated that are the effect of correlation among the forces in different axis, the effect of the higher mode and the effect of the coupled mode analysis. For both simple and complex shape buildings, the results obtained from HFFB and HFPI methods have good agreement with also being compatible with earlier works. Moreover, the mode shape correction factors of HFFB method are successful to approximate the modal force under analyzing non-linear mode shape. In comparative responses, it seems that, in the CAARC building, the correlation and the higher mode have no significant effects on the responses. However, in the modified CAARC building (the standard CAARC building that was modified the structural properties having unsymmetrical stiffness system), the coupled mode analysis affects significantly on both displacement and acceleration. Lastly, in both coupled and uncoupled analyses, the extreme response of the building can be determined by using both methods with good agreement.
