520 _aThe various penetration tests of soil are very important in determining the type of soil and profile. Over the 21st century, a lot of research had been done with various penetration tests like Cone penetration test (CPT), Dynamic cone penetration test (DCP) and Standard penetration test (SPT). In this project also, these three tests were carried out in Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Pathum Thani. The main aim of this project was to compare the above mentioned tests regarding their ability to penetrate the resistance offered by the soil. However, additional analysis like effect of in put energy from the system, cone size and cone apex angle are also carried out. Correlation between the different tests were also established to investigate the change of one quantity when another quantity changes. The DCP test was carried out with Manual and Auto equip ment. Hence, there exist some differences in the above two in their input energies as the hammer weights are different. For the CPT and two types DCP, the cones were categorized basically into two categories. Normal cones are the cones with base diameter of 35.6mm and apex angle of 60 degree. The other category was the special cones, which can be used only for research purposes. Special cone dimensions differ from normal cones because of its different cone size. There exist a relationship between penetration value of cones and the input energy. High input energy of the system was associated with less penetration value and vice-versa. Also there exist some relationship of penetration value with cone area and cone angle were es tablished. The penetration value of different cone sizes are also compared on basis of few parameters. The results established correlation between CPT with DCP and CPT with SPT.
