520 _aProviding safety, comfort and convenience and to minimize delay are the main aims of highway design. Hence, the implementation of no-passing zones should be minimized to the extent possible without endangering safety. In present research it is assumed that indiscriminate implementation of no-passing regulation on two-lane highway bridges is not obeyed by the drivers if there is provision of available sight distance. The present study investigated the accepted lags in terms of time spent in the opposing lane and the passing sight distance computed on bridge sections along longitudinal profiles of the high ways. A comprehensive study, for the measurement of drivers eye height was conducted to establish the eye height of drivers for computing passing sight distances. The frequency of need to overtake or pass as far as drivers' behavior and response towards no-passing stripes is concerned, was further established in the present study. A brief study was also conducted to observe those instantaneous conditions arising when violating vehicles crossed over no-passing stripes. From the data, it is recommended that the present no-passing stripes on hump-back bridge sections be extended from both ends, the present no-passing stripes on flat-deck bridge sections be removed and the present no-passing stripes on sag bridge section be shortened from the end just before entering the bridge section towards Rayong and be removed from counter flow lane towards Si Racha. It is recommended that the research be extended to include a more comprehensive study to observe the conditions instantaneously when violations occur on no-passing stripes installed on bridge sections by using more sophisticated instruments to observe traffic characteristics.
