500 _aA capstone project report submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Science in Engineering Mechatronics Engineering, School of Engineering and Technology
520 _aThe purpose of this project idea is to create a wall climbing rover (vehicle) which is controlled by wireless transmitter that can be used to inspecting process concrete walls, wall of power plants, military tasks like spying missions and emergency services for a disaster mitigation as well as urban and rescue missions where the human unable to reach and risky environments for the humans. The design of the rover contains one brushless motor inside a chamber which allows you to create a low pressure zone below the base of the rover to adhere or stick on to the wall. There are many adhesion methods that used in wall climbing robots such like magnetic force, suction cup with a pulling piston rod, using adhesion material, adhesion using micro-spines and van der walls forces. But here I used both sliding suctions and adhesive material for adhesion technique because if the robot had not enough of battery power to power up the motor, it may fall. To prevent such like a falling incident, I recommend using extra technique to hold the robot to the wall. So according to this project, the rover consists with PID algorithm to maintain the speed of the four motors. It is controlled using RF remote controlling joystick.
