| 520 | _aThis research study intended to develop the Preplaced Aggregate Concrete (PAC) by using lightweight aggregate. The idea of preplaced aggregate concrete could provide a very big advantage for implementing lightweight aggregate by a very high amount of aggregate percentage to cement paste which would end up reducing a density for concrete. The purpose of this work is to implement the PAC idea to lightweight aggregate and develop a structural lightweight concrete. Since lightweight aggregate gradation is usually way smaller than the normal weight aggregate, the production of Preplaced Lightweight Aggregate is more challenging due to its size and low specific gravity. The flowability of the grout is the important thing which will be checked and control carefully. The supplementary materials were used to improve the fresh properties and hardened properties of the product. The research was developed by using DOE of 2k (Two level of full factorial design) with added center points with 3 factors as k resulted in 15 mixes plus 1 control mix, all the results were analyzed by Minitab17. The highest compressive strength that was developed from this work was 27.65 MPa at 28 days, 3.47 MPa in Flexural strength, 8.98 GPa of Modulus of Elasticity and about 1300 Kg/m3 of the oven-dried density. According to the compressive strength and, the product from this research could be counted as a structural lightweight preplaced aggregate concrete to use as the structural components. | ||
