| 520 | _aThis report presents the study on emission from biomass combustion systems in Thailand which covers the industrial and domestic biomass combustion and also charcoal making. The experiments have been done in three types of industry which are wood processing industry, rice mill and sugar mill in order to estimate the CO, CH4, N2O emission factors from wood-fired boilers, rice husk-fired boilers and bagasse-fired boilers which are the existing technologies employed in the above industries respectively. The results from the experiment show that the average CO, CH4, N2O emission factors for wood-fired boilers are 20.76, 19.73, 11.47 g/kg wood, for rice husk-fired boilers are 8.81, 0, 13.52 g/kg rice husk, and for bagasse-fired boilers are 2.22, 3.99, 3.17 g/kg bagasse respectively. Emission inventory of CO, CH4, N2O from biomass use in Thailand has been constructed based on available national energy activity and emission factor data. The total amounts of CO, CH4, N2O emitted from biomass use are 3710129.95, 622905.94 and 1907.08 tons/year respectively. The potential of energy conservation and emission reduction of biomass combu tion has been assessed. The results from the study show that there exists a large potential to conserve energy while simultaneously reduce the amount of emissions. The estimated total emission reduction potential of CO, CH4 and N2O are 1419389, 267459.7 and 364.64 tons/year respectively. | ||
