| 520 | _aA number of thematic maps of the Nakhon Sawan city including geomorphologic map, geologic map, engineering geological map, hydrologic map, flood-prone map and landuse map are made. The landform features in Nakhon Sawan city include foot hill slopes, alluvial fans, stream terrace, floodphain, oxbow lakes, point bars, channel bars, swamps and rivers. Rock unit exposed in the area are quartzite, phyllite, schist, limestone and andesite. Surficial deposits consist of residual soil, alluvial fan sediments, stream terrace deposits and alluvium. Residual soil consists of SC and SM. The alluvial fan deposits consist of SM, SC and CL. The stream terrace deposits consist of SC and CL. The alluvium deposit consists of SC, SM, CL and CH. Foundation subsoil deposits consist mainly of recent fine grained alluvium. The construction aggregates used limestone, sand and gravel. The area has good resources in term of construction material except for crushed rock aggregates. Water supply is obtained from the Ping and the Chao Phraya rivers, natural reservoirs, oxbow lakes and groundwater. The groundwater is high in iron content. Solid waste disposal method is sanitary landfill at Nakhon Sawan Municipality waste di sposal site which is 13 km from the city. The amount of solid waste produced in the municipality area is 130 tons/day. Liquid waste is collected through the sewers and disposed into the Chao Phraya and Ping rivers. Flooding due to the overflow of the Chao Phraya river is the natural hazard in the area. | ||
