It goes on by relating factor intensities derived from the input-output table to external trade to assess the resource costs of import substitution vis a vis export expansion. Having preferred export expansion, the relative export performance of the five Asean member states is then brought under close scrutiny to determine the areas of "revealed" comparative advantage.
