520 _aTruck terminals in Bangkok was constructed to alleviate the problems occurred by the use of trucks, such as traffic congestion and air pollution. However, the cargo volume handled at truck terminals is extremely less than that predicted in the demand forecasting, conducted by The Japan International Cooperation Agencies (HCA). To make the policies for promoting the use of truck terminals, it is necessary to understand the behavior of truck transportation companies and their attitude toward truck terminals. This study aims to identify the factors that are sensitive to the demand of truck terminal by conducting the sensitivity analysis in the demand forecasting method used by HCA, and to analyze the behavior and opinion of truck transportation companies toward the use of truck terminal in Bangkok. The study areas were Putamonthon truck terminal and freight distribution centers located along Putamonthon road no. 2 and no. 3. The sensitivity analysis was done in three cases, the change of cargo flow, the change of commodity type shares in cargo flow, and the change of use ratio of truck terminal. . The result of sensitivity analysis showed that the use ratio of truck terminal is the most sensitive factor that causes the biggest error in the demand forecasting. For the behavior analysis, the questionnaires were distributed to truck companies using truck terminal or freight distribution centers. The transhipment behavior and the opinion about truck terminal and freight distribution center were studied. Furthermore, binary logit model was also developed to see the impact of demand of truck terminal due to the change in truck terminal fee policy. It was found that the demand of truck terminal was not changed with the varied truck terminal fee, and truck terminal fee was not an influential factor for selecting to use truck terminal, but other aspect such as safety for storing goods, accessibility, convenience for using, and rules or regulations regarding the use of truck terminal were the more important factors that should be emphasized when making policies to promote the use of truck terminal.
