520 _aTotal Exploration and Production Thailand (TEPT) and PTT Exploration and Production (PTTEP), together with British Gas and Statoil, decided in 1990 to form a joint venture in order to develop Bongkot Field, a gas concession situated in the Gulf of Thailand. TEPT was appointed operator of the Joint Venture. Its role was to manage the operations of the Joint Venture and to prepare the transfer of operatorship to PTTEP. The transfer of technology, managed by both companies as a project, led to the transfer of operatorship in June 1998. The Joint Venture, the Project Management and the Technology Transfer implemented by PTTEP and TEPT will successively be analyzed in order to determine whether or not the operatorship transfer has been fully and successfully accomplished.
