| 520 | _aModeling is the key tool for any quantitative understanding of atmospheric dispersion. A modified Gaussian plume model . was employed in this study to calculate N02 and NO, concentrations. A program in FORTRAN language was written to create meteorological data file required in this applied model. Model results were compared with measurements from 10 sites. There is a good agreement between calculated values and measured values after the background sources were taken into acc·ount. The wake effect of in-plant building was evaluated and the sensitivity of the model computation results to variation of parameters was assessed. The distribution of highest 1-hour ground level NO, concentrations from CSC were calculated hourly across an area of 10 km x 10 km around CSC for each month of 1989. The contributions of each stack in CSC to the highest 1-hour NO, concentration were calculated. The bubble concept was applied to the strategy-making for NO, emission reduction. During determination of priority for emission reduction three major factors have been taken into account. They are technical feasibility, cost effectiveness and air quality. Steps for determining the priority list of stacks in CSC for NO, emission reduction were set up. Finally, a referential strategy on the basis of bubble concept was made by utilizing the modified Gaussian plume model, marginal analysis and marginal substitution. The total reduction of NO, emission and improvement of air quality were calculated according to the individual contributions of stpcks in the proposed list. | ||
