520 _aThailand Department of Highways (DOH) has inspected the condition of highways under its jurisdiction annually in order to allocate the proper budget for pavement maintenance. DOH has utilized the Thailand Pavement Management System (TPMS) for collecting the pavement condition which contains the minor and major deterioration of pavement for the entire road system. DOH also applies the HOM-III pavement deterioration model to predict the future condition of their road network. HOM-III models predict the future progression of each distress type while the required information is collected in terms of major and minor deterioration areas. This causes data discrepancies between the TPMS data collection and HOM-III models. In addition, HDM-111 was last calibrated 10 years ago. This research focuses on the development of pavement deterioration models for the Thailand Department of Highways. The collected pavement condition data is used to develop the pavement deterioration models which help predict the future condition of major and minor deterioration of the highways in different regions of Thailand. The correlation between. pavement condition and the pavement time service is identified by regression techniques. Once the correlation is developed, other factors that influences the deterioration of pavement, such as traffic, is incorporated in the models. The process of data manipulation and filtration is used to ensure that the collected data truly represents the actual condition of the pavement. As a result, the correlations between all the variables in the developed models are much improved. The developed models are validated to ensure the accuracy of the developed models as compared with the actual pavement condition data, the calculated average deterioration rate and the existing HDMIII model used by Thailand DOH.
