| 520 | _aThis study investigates the performance of a high rate physicochemical process, called Densadeg® used as a primary treatment. This research had been carried out on a pilot plant located on an oceanic wastewater treatment plant in Sydney. In order to evaluate the efficiency of this technology, it was decided to assess its performance by running the pilot plant in dry weather and wet weather flow conditions. The range of flow rate applied to the process was in the range of 40 m 3 /h to 65 m 3 /h (960 m3 /d to 1560 m3 /d). The chemical agents constituted of ferric chloride as coagulant and anionic polymer whose dosage varied from 30 mg/l to 50 mg/I and 1.5 mg/I to 3 mg/l respectively. By increasing the flow rate, the TSS removal decreased from 80% to 26%, with an average value of 65% for the study. The mean removal efficiency achieved for O&G, TKN, TP and COD parameters were 57%, 49%, 12% and 47% respectively under these operating conditions. | ||
