520 _aThe purpose of this research is to determine the possibility of the second pavement recycling for flexible pavement which have been destroyed or reached the end of service life. This research focuses on the highways which have been rehabilitated by pavement recycling method and using cement additive in the first pavement recycling. In addition, type of existing base course materials before the first pavement recycling is also considered. The physical and engineering properties of the second recycled pavement materials modified by using additives, which are Portland cement, asphalt emulsion, and Portland cement and asphalt emulsion, to improve quality of materials in laboratory are examined by using standard tests. The proportion between asphalt concrete surface material and pavement recycling base material of 25:75 and 50:50 were considered. Moreover, the performance - related properties of the second recycled pavement materials modified with stabilising agents were tested. The test includes Indirect Tensile Strength (ITS) Test, Resilient Modulus (Mr) Test, Dynamic Creep Test and Indirect Tensile Fatigue Test (ITFT). According to results of standard tests and analysis, it shows that the first pavement recycling material can be used for another recycling. Moreover, the higher amount of cement additive allows the 2 nd pavement recycling material to resist the UCS at 28.2 ksc. This result also shows that the resulting ITS, TSR, and M r test are accept able. For other performance - related tests, for example, dynamic creep test and indirect tensile fatigue test, the results show that using cement additive yields a better strength performance than using cement and asphalt emulsion additive
