| 520 | _aThis study is an attempt to evaluate the performance of the treatment of poultry processing wastewater by locally available chemicals. The jar test was conducted to study the removal efficiency of coagulation/flocculation, optimum dose and pH of alum and ferrous sul fate. Some tests were run in with the aid of lime and kaolinite clay also . The results showed that alum gave better removal efficiency than ferrous sulfate, and t he lime and kaolinite clay did not elevate the removal efficiency in the alum coagulation/flocculation. The pilot scale plant also was operated to evaluate the performance of the continuous system at the same .optimum dose and pH range demonstrated by the jar test. Removal efficiency by the alum coagulation/flocculation was achieved but it was not as high as the results of jar test. | ||
